I like what I see, although the simplicity of WordPress is kind of nice, I would enjoy some more creative freedom.

I think what I’ll end up doing is keeping this blog for closer friends and making the other one public.

I also have some new ideas and some things that I want to share…

Did I ever tell you this story?

Once upon a time, I was at work killing people slowly with plates of toxic mush that somewhat resembled appetizing food, when I saw a dark shadow out of the corner of my eye.
“Oh my God, it’s a fucking sith lord!” I thought to myself, turning around to get a closer look.
I soon realize that the person standing before me is not a sith lord, but a Muslim woman dressed in a burka.

I felt like an asshole.

The end.

Sometimes, I dunno it’s like I get so behind. I just go oh, oh well. Fuck it all.

Store manager: Yes, so for a while, I noticed a few of you leaning against things looking at your nails and such. Remember to be engaged! This weekend is going to be tons and tons of fun!

All I have to say is that there are times when there is no one in that godforsaken place and I will lean against shelves like the fucking Greek god of leaning if I want to.

Food Service Blows

So, I am completely unaware of how many of you work in food service, but I’m sure you know that in order to be a healthy, thriving, health-inspector passing joint, you’ve got to wear gloves. Forget the fact studies have proven these gloves are not necessarily better than bare hands….Now, gloves come with a handy chart for deciphering what size they are. They do not trust you to know what XS, S, M, L, and XL mean, so they give you a handy chart on the back. It looks sort of like this:

Size Chart:
XS = Extra Small, S = Small, M = Medium, L = Large, XL = Extra Large

My point is that the vinyl glove industry thinks we’re stupid.
My second point is, that I have recently given them reason to think that.

My company does not stock nearly enough gloves. We always run out during the middle of the month and then are forced to use gloves that are several sizes too large and made of some weird sweat-inducing material. Medium sized gloves are like gold to us. Yesterday, around 5:54PM, I found an unopened box of mediums. I then proceeded to climb into my food cart, shove the 1/4 of a box that I had into this full one in secrecy, and then feel an unerring sense of shame about my day.

I am a glove hoarder. That is all I ever will be.

I am going to go prepare my underground bunker. This will consist of several dry food items that shall not perish until 2013. My question for those who actually have their own bomb shelters is, what do you do when all that food finally expires? If you’ve been convinced the world is ending since, say, 1990, you must have some stuff that has gone bad. Here, I will tell you what I would do. I would have a massive cookout and then restock. Might as well enjoy these “final days” until 2012 while we still can…oh wait, the fact you even possess your own bomb shelter is a clear indicator that you do not have friends. Umm, I do not even know what to say to you. I’m sorry.

I have just had a thought.

Maybe I should stop being the quietly dismissive roommate who does not give a shit if people come over and shift to a more welcoming mindset.

But…I really don’t care if you’re around or not.
In fact, I prefer the not.
It’s always the same people and they are…annoying.

There is a voice inside my head that says, “CRUX, this is about survival of the fittest and these people certainly are not very fit, so why don’t you have at them while you still can? I am sure that you can throw in a few punches before they rip your scalp off or begin talking. Either or would be the death of you, really.”

I’ll try to do better, but only because I am called to love them, not to like them.

Soo…I’m a douche.

I just wish I were not so awkward.

Me, describing a boy I like: When he smiles he does not use his full face….kind of like bad botox.
Friend: I think you are the only one who notices that.

The thing is, I think this individual is attractive! I’m just…not good at conveying what I think/feel and manage to distort positive things into the most horrifying, bitchy conversations ever.
So now, I feel semi-horrible and hope that what I said never gets back to him, haha.

You are probably judging me right now. It’s okay, I put it out there. The way I think about it is that I only have one more year left of teenage angst and I better utilize it while I still can.
